EMR WILL PROVIDE WIDE ARRAY OF OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE SUPPORT
TO THE GOVERNMENT THROUGH FEDERAL SUPPLY SCHEDULE CONTRACT
ARLINGTON, Va.
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recently selected Enviro-Management
& Research, Inc. (EMR) to provide technical and management support
to the Federal Energy Management Program within the Office of Energy
Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE).
Under the contract,
EMR will assist Federal agencies through a wide array of operations
and maintenance projects. The project was awarded under the Energy
Management Services (871-II) Federal Supply Schedule contract EMR
has negotiated with the U.S. General Services Administration.
"This contract is designed
to help Federal agencies implement new and innovative approaches to
optimize their O&M programs," says EMR president Naresh Khosla. "EMR
looks forward to using our expertise in facilities maintenance management,
commissioning, energy efficient design, and reliability centered maintenance
to improve operating efficiency at Government facilities across the
country."
One of the projects
DOE/FEMP has asked EMR to undertake is the development of a comprehensive
commissioning program that will be used as a standard on all design/build
projects undertaken by Department of State/Overseas Building Operations.
The program will become a model used by design/build contractors and
others performing major new construction and remodeling/renovations
at Government facilities across the nation and worldwide. EMR will
develop pre-functional and functional testing procedures for mechanical,
electrical, life safety, plumbing, and security systems (controls
for each system and subsystem shall be commissioned as elements of
the system/subsystem).
EMR will also provide
integrated commissioning and condition assessment services for the
thermal storage plant at the new Smithsonian Museum at Dulles International
Airport, as well as provide design specification support for a cogeneration
and heat recovery system at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, India during
the first year of this contract.
Future tasks to be undertaken
during up to four option years include the following:
- Reliability Centered
Maintenance (RCM) Benchmark Studies
