CONTRACT TO UPGRADE ELECTRICAL AND HVAC SYSTEMS AT U.S. EMBASSY IN NEW DELHI, INDIA AWARDED TO EMR

ARLINGTON, Va. – Enviro-Management & Research, Inc. (EMR) has been awarded a contract with the U.S. Department of State, Overseas Buildings Operations (DOS/OBO), to provide professional construction services for the upgrade of existing electrical and HVAC systems at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, India.

Under this project, EMR will replace existing 11 KV electrical cables with new 11 KV automatic voltage regulators and transformers, install EW 11 KV and 415/240 V switchgears, replace the existing electrical distribution system (split pack and fan coil units) with new energy efficient fan coil units, and provide enhancements to the existing HVAC control system.

The project requires work to interface with future projects, including an energy savings performance contract that EMR will be undertaking to design and install a new cogeneration waste heat recovery system at the Embassy.

EMR has performed similar work for DOS/OBO for the past five years, including the cogeneration and chiller upgrade project at the Embassy in New Delhi, a comprehensive energy savings performance contract at the Embassy in Mexico City, Mexico, as well as reliability centered maintenance and commissioning program development for all DOS facilities worldwide. EMR has also performed other engineering work at embassies in Warsaw, Poland; Muscat, Oman; and Lisbon, Portugal.

"We look forward to the successful continuation of our working relationship with EMR on this project," says Larry Silverio, P.E., CEM of DOS/OBO. "The new electrical and HVAC construction project will provide a good complement to the professional engineering services EMR has already provided for the upgrade and renovation of the central chiller plant at the SDA Enclave at Post New Delhi."

Adds Naresh Khosla, EMR president, "EMR has worked with DOS/OBO for nearly ten years, and we look forward to continuing this relationship and providing exemplary work on this project."
